Scott Education Health & Medical Disclaimer
Version 1.0 | Effective 21 August 2026
In brief
Scott Education provides education and general information only. It is not a healthcare service, and its materials are not a substitute for individual medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or care.
We do not know you, cannot assess your health, and cannot determine what is safe, suitable or appropriate for you personally. Discuss any and all plans you are considering with your doctor or healthcare provider and agree with them what is appropriate for you, whatever your health and whether or not you take medication.
Scott Education explains selected evidence, mechanisms and approaches. It does not attempt to provide a complete account of every treatment, condition, medication, risk or individual circumstance.
1. Scope and role
This Disclaimer applies to health-related material provided under the Scott Education or Scott Education Press names in any medium, including books, websites, Reader Resources, downloads, courses, videos, emails, newsletters, communities, social media and correspondence.
For this Disclaimer, “Scott Education” means Andrew Scott trading under those names, any successor entity, and people acting on its behalf within the scope of their role. Where a separately contracted service has its own written terms, those terms prevail to the extent of any conflict.
Tracks, calorie targets, meal structures, worksheets, trackers and similar materials are informational tools, not individual instructions or prescriptions. They are provided for you and your healthcare professional to consider in deciding what, if anything, is appropriate for you.
Scott Education does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, monitor, supervise, provide medical clearance or decide what anyone should do.
The material is deliberately selective. The omission of a treatment, condition, medication, risk or precaution implies nothing about its importance, effectiveness or safety. The absence of a warning about your circumstances must not be taken as evidence that an approach is safe for you.
2. Type 2 diabetes and individual suitability
Scott Education material about diabetes is concerned solely with type 2 diabetes. Other forms of diabetes can resemble type 2 diabetes or be mistaken for it while having different causes, risks and treatment requirements. Scott Education does not diagnose diabetes or determine which form you have.
Scott Education’s dietary, fasting and weight-loss materials are not designed for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, people under 18, or people with a current or previous eating disorder or significant history of disordered eating. This is not a complete list of circumstances in which an approach may be unsuitable.
General information cannot account for your medical history, medications, test results, other conditions, risk factors or individual response. What is suitable for one person may be unsafe for another. Any and all plans arising from Scott Education material should therefore be discussed and agreed with your doctor or healthcare provider.
3. Medication and significant change
Changes in food or carbohydrate intake, fasting, meal timing, weight, activity or hydration can alter the effects or requirements of prescribed medicines, sometimes quickly.
Reduced food or carbohydrate intake can increase the risk of hypoglycaemia with insulin and sulfonylureas such as gliclazide. SGLT2 inhibitors carry a risk of diabetic ketoacidosis, including when blood glucose is not markedly raised. These are examples, not a complete list.
Do not start, stop, reduce or otherwise alter prescribed medication on the basis of Scott Education material. Those decisions belong with your prescriber or other appropriate healthcare professional.
Rapid improvement in blood glucose can be associated with temporary worsening of existing diabetic retinopathy or, rarely, treatment-induced neuropathy. Appropriate monitoring and screening remain important even when health is improving.
If you drive or perform other safety-critical activities while using medication capable of causing hypoglycaemia, follow the rules that apply where you live and obtain appropriate professional advice about relevant changes.
4. Qualifications and relationship
Andrew Scott holds postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Nutrition, Applied Statistics in Health Sciences and Education. His work through Scott Education is educational rather than clinical. He is not a medical doctor or registered dietitian, and Scott Education does not provide individual clinical care.
Using Scott Education material, completing a form, subscribing, asking a question or corresponding with Scott Education does not create a doctor-patient, clinician-patient or other healthcare-professional relationship. Communications remain general educational information unless a separately contracted service expressly provides otherwise.
5. Outcomes, accuracy and responsibility
No particular outcome is promised or guaranteed. Research findings and individual experiences do not predict your result.
Scott Education uses reversal for improvement in the metabolic abnormalities underlying type 2 diabetes and remission for the clinical outcome, usually defined as HbA1c below 48 mmol/mol (6.5%) for at least three months in the absence of glucose-lowering medication. Remission is not necessarily permanent.
In Type 2 Diabetes Reversal in a Weekend, “in a Weekend” refers to the time needed to understand the approach and prepare to decide what to do next. It is not a claim that remission occurs within a weekend.
Scott Education takes reasonable care over accuracy, but errors are possible and evidence and clinical guidance change. No educational resource can be assumed complete, permanently current or applicable to every individual.
Scott Education is not an emergency service. Seek urgent medical assistance for a medical emergency, serious adverse reaction or significant deterioration in health.
All decisions about your health remain yours, to be made with a healthcare professional who knows your circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scott Education does not accept responsibility for loss arising from treating general educational material as personalised medical advice or medical clearance, disregarding an express warning, failing to obtain individual professional advice, or materially altering an approach and treating the result as though Scott Education had recommended or supervised it.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.
